MONTHLY MESSAGE from TRACY, KATE & MEG

May 2008 - What You Focus on Grows

As we rummage through our flower pots and gardening tools preparing for our spring planting rituals, we can meditate on what it takes to grow things of beauty and nourishment in our lives. Whether you want to plant window boxes overflowing with colorful and fragrant flowers to feed your senses, a garden full of fresh vegetables to nourish your body, or some new desires to nurture your spirit, it takes intention, rhythmic attention and faith to bring new things to fruition.

All new things start with a clear intention. A seed of something possible but not present, promising but not fulfilled. Intentions are powerful seeds to motivate us into action. They are the new dreams, wishes or desires that sprout from deep within and break through the surface of our consciousness. The clearer we are about our intentions, the more likely we are to fulfill their promise. Like a clear plan for the garden, a clear intention will lead the way to a full harvest of our desires.

Despite our deepest intentions, however, seeds will not grow without rhythmic attention. If we want to bring those sprouts to fullness we have to be willing to tend to the seeds of our intentions each day. Just as we attend to our gardens with light, water and regular weeding, we have to attend to our intentions with our minds, our hearts and our actions. It is a law of nature that whatever you focus on grows. If we renew our intention each day, give it our full hearted attention, and take actions to clear the way for the intention to come forward, in time we can expect to reap the rewards of that steady and persistent presence.

Finally, for intentions to blossom we need to have faith in our dreams and desires. Only a foolish gardener would rush out each morning and dig up the seed planted the day before to see if it's growing, or fall in despair when the full garden doesn't appear overnight. Faith is a calm and steady confidence in the power of the invisible world to become visible. It is a willingness to push through difficulties, disruptions and disappointments. It is a hopeful eagerness to give witness to things that are yet to come. It is the power to imagine the radiant summer rose already present in the tight spring bud.

We wish you all a spring season filled with clear intentions, a calm and steady presence, and a harvest of fulfilled dreams and desires.

Blessings,
Tracy, Kate and Meg
